OPINION: Christmas decorations go up after Thanksgiving

Putting up Christmas decorations before Thanksgiving undermines the time allotted for appreciating the holiday. Similar to how February is for Valentine’s Day, October is for Halloween and December is for Christmas, November should be reserved for Thanksgiving. These are very clear, standard rules that I think we can all agree make perfect sense.

OPINION: Dancers are the most underappreciated athletes

Just as dance fails to be recognized as a sport, dancers are not recognized as the elite athletes they are. Dancers need coordination and strength in order to execute routines. Muscular strength is what allows dancers to jump higher, turn faster and control their movements. Building this muscle requires spending time in the gym, just like other athletes, on top of hours of rehearsal in the studio. People don’t tend to see the effort that dancers put into their craft behind the scenes. For a short, two-minute routine, it may take days to learn and perfect.

OPINION: You need to let go of things that do not serve you anymore

We’re all at a point in our lives where we’re going through a lot of change. As we decide what paths our careers will take us, we should also reflect on what can improve in our lives right now. Ask yourself whether or not the things you prioritize in your life are benefitting you in any way. Are there other things or people you can be giving greater attention and love to that will serve you even more?

OPINION: Podcasts are getting out of hand

As podcasts gain more traction and attention, content creators are rushing to get their slice of the pie. Not everyone has the same credibility as “Call Her Daddy” to be able to secure famous interviewees, so many of them turn into conversational podcasts based on the lives and opinions of the hosts. Some creators focus on drama, while others try to give advice to their listeners. But are any of these people really qualified to lead these conversations?
