OPINION: Nails are one of the best ways to express yourself

From French tips to XXL stiletto tips, nails have been a prominent symbol of beauty since ancient dynasties. The first known examples of nail polish date back to 3,000 BC in ancient China. However, in modern times, there is no limit to what you can do with your nails, and I believe that they are one of the best ways to express yourself. What I think one must remember when considering nail art is the type of feelings colors evoke in others when they see it. Red implies confidence, seduction and power. On the other hand, yellow can suggest happiness, youth and joy.

One woman who has truly proven to be that witch is Ariana Grande. From dominating the pop industry to now soaring over Munchkinland in a bubble, she has shown that her career is a force to be reckoned with. We all remember the height of her pop era — marked by thigh-high boots and ultra-high stilettos — but lately, our pop diva-turned-good-witch has been spotted in nothing but the classiest pairs of Jimmy Choos.

OPINION: It is not that hard to follow the Met Gala theme

With the recent announcement of the 2025 Met Gala theme, “Superfine: Tailoring Black Style,” I felt it was important that we discuss the consistent predicament of guests missing the theme completely. One would expect that guests of a dinner party thrown by one of the biggest fashion publications in the world would follow the provided theme. Unfortunately, for many guests that is simply not the case.

As we enter the spring of 2025, we are bound to see an influx of fashion trends within the land of social media. However, transitioning into this new fashion season also means that we must remind ourselves that in order for one trend to rise, another must fall. Trends are all fun and games in the moment, but looking back at your Instagram years from now will show you that timeless fashion is always the way to go.
