Founder and president of Kids and Cars Safety (KACS) Janette Fennell spoke to the College in the library auditorium on Nov. 1 about how she turned her dramatic kidnapping story into a career advocating for vehicle-related risks. Fennell touched upon topics regarding car safety, as well as the concerns her organization has addressed.

The Muslim Student Association (MSA) invited Bilquis Abdul-Qaadir to speak about her experience playing basketball as a Muslim woman and her remarkable story of fighting for her right to wear her hijab. Being unable to play professional basketball due to her hijab, she grew to become proud of being Muslim and understood the religion at a deeper level.

Synergy Dance Company hosted their annual “Mr. Synergy” dance pageant where six contestants competed for a trophy, crown and the title of “Mr. Synergy” while raising money for childhood cancer.

TCNJam hosted a flag football game on Oct. 23 to raise money for The Andrew McDonough B+ Foundation, a nonprofit organization dedicated to raising money for families affected by childhood cancer who need financial assistance and childhood cancer research, as well as spreading awareness of the cause.

The Indian Student Association hosted a Diwali-inspired dinner and talent show that featured performances by dancers, singers, musicians and comics. This event took place on Nov. 4, beginning at 8 p.m., and lasting for several hours.

The College’s campus welcomed students and parents to enjoy this year’s annual homecoming activities on Oct. 21 and Oct. 22. Student government collaborated with the Division of Student Affairs to plan the entire week’s events, including the weekend’s Homecoming Fest. The Student Finance Board funded the commencement events of the weekend.

The Student New Jersey Education Association (SNJEA) hosted the first ever Pack-A-Back Event on Oct. 5 to support Ewing schools. The event began with attendees each taking a backpack and adding various school supplies, including pencils, pens, notebooks and folders. In another room, attendees wrote encouraging notes addressed to students of the Ewing schools.
