They first split two games with Ramapo College, losing at home and winning on the road, and then winning two games at Montclair State University to get themselves into the New Jersey Athletic Conference Tournament.

Read More »The College’s baseball team was coming off a difficult week in which they dropped back-to-back games to extend their losing streak to three, after winning 12 straight games to open the season. The College traveled to Wayne, New Jersey in order to face off against the Pioneers of William Paterson University on March 30.
Read More »The College returned to their home field at George Ackerman Park on March 20, yet to have suffered a loss on the season with their best start since 2006, with a record of 9-0. In their first home game of the year, Widener University looked to end that streak, but they would have had to slow down the red-hot Lions offense to do so.

The Lions were perfectly average, but they put together a Cinderella run to defeat Kean in the championship game when it mattered most.

Read More »As of Sept. 27 in Chicago Illinois, The Philadelphia Phillies had just been swept by the Chicago Cubs (68-86) and another September collapse seemed imminent. With a two-game lead for the final wild-card spot slowly slipping after an 11-14 record in September, it seemed that even if the Phillies did stumble their way into the final playoff spot, they would not be going very far. Confidence in the Phillies was not high, but after taking the series 4-1 against the NL-worst Washington Nationals, all the Phillies needed was one more win to clinch a playoff berth. Heading into Houston to take on the AL-leading Houston Astros, Aaron Nola, known for his late-year struggles, pitched a no-hitter heading into the 6th inning. Eventually finished off by stout reliever Jose Alvarado and newly formed closer Zach Eflin. Leading the Phillies to a 3-0 win, and their first playoff berth in 11 years.
