Donald Trump has been elected the 47th president of the United States, the Associated Press reported, after making gains across the country. Control of the House of Representatives is still up in the air as more votes are counted.

Kamala Harris is projected to win Virginia's 13 electoral votes, according to AP News.
AP News projects that Harris will win eight electoral votes from Oregon and five from New Mexico, bringing the total electoral votes to 192 for Harris and 230 for Trump.
According to AP News, Trump is projected to win North Carolina's 16 electoral votes.
Harris is projected to win California and Washington state, according to the Associated Press, while Trump is projected to win Idaho, leaving Trump with 214 votes and Harris with 179. The New York Times is reporting an 88% chance of victory for Trump.
AP News projects that Trump will win Kansas' six electoral votes as well as Iowa's, brining the total to 210 electoral votes for Trump and 112 for Harris.
According to the Associated Press, Harris is projected to win D.C.'s three electoral votes
Kamala Harris is projected to win Colorado's 10 electoral votes, according to the Associated Press.
The Associated Press has projected Donald Trump to win Utah and Montana, bringing his total electoral vote count to 198. Kamala Harris's total electoral count sits at 99.
The Associated Press has called that Trump won 10 electoral votes from Missouri.
The Associated Press is reporting that former President Donald Trump has won 17 electoral votes from Ohio and 40 from Texas. This brings the total electoral votes to 177 for Trump and 99 for Vice President Kamala Harris.
According to AP, Nebraska gives 2 electoral votes to Trump, New York gives 28 electoral votes to Harris, North Dakota gives 3 electoral votes to Trump, South Dakota gives 3 electoral votes to Trump, Louisiana gives 8 electoral votes to Trump, and Wyoming gives 3 electoral votes to Trump.
The Associated Press is reporting that Harris won three electoral votes from Delaware and 19 from Illinois, bringing the total electoral votes to 71 for Harris and 101 for Trump
AP News announced that polls closed in New Jersey and Arkansas. Harris won 14 electoral votes from New Jersey. Trump won 6 electoral votes from Arkansas.
Andy Kim will be the next senator from New Jersey, the Associated Press projects. Kim will replace George Helmy, who took office after the resignation of Bob Menendez.
AP News is reporting that the polls closed in South Carolina. Trump won 9 electoral votes from South Carolina, making the total electoral votes being 35 for Harris and 95 for Trump.
The Associated Press has called the race for multiple states. Mississippi, Alabama, Oklahoma, Tennessee and Florida have been called for Donald Trump, while Rhode Island, Massachusetts, Connecticut and Maryland have been called for Kamala Harris.
The Associated Press is reporting that former President Donald Trump has won West Virginia. The last time a Democratic presidential candidate won West Virginia was Bill Clinton in 1996.
AP News is reporting that there are no credible instances of nationwide security problems threatening votes or the election in Pennsylvania, according to Cait Conley, a senior adviser to the director of the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency.
The first results of the night are in, as the Associated Press has called Indiana and Kentucky for Donald Trump, and Vermont for Kamala Harris. That gives Harris three electoral votes and Trump 19.
