There have been many developments regarding the case against rapper and producer Sean “Diddy” Combs, who now has over 100 additional claims to be filed against him after his recent arrest.

Forbes keeps a live update on the current status of Combs and his trial, including new lawsuits, a statement from Combs’ mother and Combs’ appearance in court, all of which occurred in October 2024.

On Sept. 30, Combs’ lawyers filed an appeal, pushing for him to be released from prison while he awaits trial (He was to remain in prison due to rising concerns that Combs was intimidating witnesses attached to his case). This was ultimately denied.

His lawyers, Alexandra Shapiro and Jason Driscoll, again filed paperwork urging for his release, claiming that the former judge, who is no longer a part of the case, was “distorted” by the cases’ attention.

On Oct. 11, Combs’ appeal for bail was deferred to three judges to decide upon, but until then, he is to stay in prison.

Tony Buzbee, the lawyer defending Combs’ alleged victims, is in charge of representing upwards of 120 lawsuits, 25 of which are from minors, for crimes such as rape, sexual assault and sexual abuse.

“We will expose the enablers who enabled this conduct behind closed doors. We will pursue this matter no matter who the evidence implicates,” he stated in a news conference, alluding toward the fact that many famous celebrities could be exposed by the end of this trial.

Combs’ mother, Janice Combs, released a statement on Instagram on Oct. 6 standing behind her son, saying, “It is heartbreaking to see my son judged not for the truth, but for a narrative created out of lies. To bear witness what seems to be like a public lynching of my son before he has had the opportunity to prove his innocence is a pain too unbearable to put into words.”

On Oct. 10, Combs appeared for the first time in court where it was decided that he was to face trial on May 5, 2025, for his charges of racketeering, sex trafficking and transportation to engage in prostitution.

Six additional claims were filed on Oct. 14 accusing Combs of rape, sexual assault, drugging the victims and threatening them with a gun, with one victim being 16 years old at the time.

Combs has not yet addressed these new claims.
