Lions fall to York in a close match

On Nov. 16, the Lion’s wrestling team took on York College of Pennsylvania in a regular season dual match. Despite a few tough losses, the team was able to take several matches in an impressive effort.

Weighing in at 133 pounds, sophomore Jake Giordano dominantly swept his match 9-1 against his York opponent.

Following suit, sophomore Robert Dinger, who weighed in at 141 pounds, controlled and won his match with a pin, putting the College ahead with an overall score of 10-4 at the time.

Dan Kilroy, a junior weighing 174 pounds pulled through with a tight 6-3 victory against his York opponent.

To end the match, freshman heavyweight Thomas Marretta took his match by injury default.

Despite the team loss of 20-19, the Lions showcased many strong wrestlers and will be back in action on Friday, Nov. 30 at York, Pennsylvania.
