Spring break is the perfect time to unwind from the craziness of the semester. Many students from the College took to the beaches and even traveled across state lines to soak up a little sun. The warmer weather means bathing suit season is now upon us, and it’s finally time to break out your summer clothes.
While vacationing in the Sunshine State over break, I got to see some of the up-and-coming trends for this season. But thanks to social media, you don’t have to look further than your phone to see what’s in style. Instagram, Snapchat and Twitter have all become perfect places to show off your outfit of the day, or for those of you who spent the break poolside, your bathing suit of the day.
If you’re an avid Instagram user like I am, I can guarantee that you’ve seen a fancy one-piece swimsuit in your newsfeed at least once this past week. That’s right, people — the one-piece is making a comeback. I can remember a time when you wouldn’t want to be caught dead in a one-piece, but now it’s a must-have item. In fact, I feel a little out-of-the-loop because I don’t own one… yet.
Along with the one-piece swimsuit movement, we’re seeing a blast from the past this season with more and more people wearing vintage, round sunglasses. From celebrities to our fellow classmates at the College, these glasses are coming back into style and for good reason. They are a simple yet bold accessory choice that can dress up a simple outfit or get paired with your favorite pair of yoga pants. As the warmer weather starts to roll in, be sure to grab your vintage sunglasses and one-piece swimsuit before heading to the beach and keep an eye out for other trendy styles coming back this summer.
