If you’re looking for a couple’s costume as you decide what celebrities to dress up for Halloween, my suggestion would be power couple Taylor Swift and Calvin Harris.

The disc jockey raised the bar for boyfriends everywhere last week when he took to Twitter to personally dismantle any breakup rumors buzzing around him and Swift. Harris tweeted on Monday, Oct. 12, “It’s not going to be a ‘happy ending’ for everyone I sue for defamation of character for all the bullshit stories bye bye.”

Swift proved that she’s as tough as her “Bad Blood” character Catastrophe on Saturday, Oct. 17, when she went a little too hard in the kitchen. The songstress posted a picture on Instagram featuring her thumb wrapped in a white bandage flaunting a drawn on number 13 — her lucky number. The caption explained, “Band aids don’t fix kitchen knife-related injuries,” a reference to her hit single, “Bad Blood.”

That same mega-hit made headlines again when Swift appeared in GQ magazine this month and revealed that “Bad Blood” wasn’t actually directed at Katy Perry as it was previously theorized.

“You’re in a Rolling Stone interview, and the writer says, ‘Who is that song about? That sounds like a really intense moment from your life,’” Swift told GQ. “And you sit there, and you know you’re on good terms with your ex-boyfriend, and you don’t want him — or his family — to think you’re firing shots at him. So you say, ‘That was about losing a friend.’ And that’s basically all you say,” she said.

Swift was on the other end of the lyrics battle last week when One Direction dropped their latest single “Perfect” on Friday, Oct. 16. Harry Styles wrote the new track and it appears that the lyrics mirror some of those from Swift’s hit, “Style” that has been heavily reported to be about the One Direction frontman. The lyrics in question include, “And if you like midnight driving with the windows down. And if you like going places we can’t even pronounce.” In my opinion, the song only confirms that Swift is in fact perfect despite the sense of some sarcasm especially in the lines, “And if you like cameras flashing every time we go out. And if you’re looking for someone to write your breakup songs about. Baby, I’m perfect. Baby, we’re perfect.”

Another “perfect” couple in the news last week was none other than singer John Legend and model-wife Chrissy Teigen. The couple had recently gone on record about their struggles to conceive, specifically Teigen’s hatred of the question, “So when are you going to start a family?” The couple was able to report happy news via Instagram Tuesday, Oct. 13, that they are expecting a baby. In her caption, Teigen touched on how it has not been easy for the couple to get to this point, but she is excited for all of the future belly rubbing.

Father and son duo, David and Brooklyn Beckham took to Instagram on Sunday, Oct. 18, to show how they bond. In what appears to be a playful wrestling match, two separate posts show different perspectives of who won. In David’s post he has his son in a headlock, where in Brooklyn’s photo the roles have been reversed. I guess you just had to be lucky enough to be there to know who won.

With Halloween just around the corner I can already hear Christmas tunes starting to play in the background. Maybe the Beckhams will post photos from a Thanksgiving football tournament if we’re lucky, but for now sneak preview photos from Bill Murray’s Netflix Christmas special will have to hold you over. The musical special is intended to mirror those of the '70s and '80s that have scripted pop-ins from celebrities that are meant to seem super casual. Murray’s guests will include Amy Poehler, George Clooney and Miley Cyrus. While I wait to see how Swift tops her pegacorn costume from last Halloween, I suppose it’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas.
