“Life as We Know It” opened in theaters on Oct. 8. Is this film worth seeing? In a word — No.
In short, the film focuses on a not-so-conventional pair of parents played by Katherine Heigl of “27 Dresses” fame and Josh Duhamel from “Transformers.”
After their mutual friends tragically die, Holly Berenson (Heigl) and Eric Messer (Duhamel) inherit the important task of raising their young daughter, Sophie.
The movie plays out in such a way that the characters begin as polar opposites of one another, and as the movie progresses, they learn to make their atypical family work.
The film attempts originality, yet inevitably appears cliché and predictable.
As a typical romantic comedy, it follows suit to other movies Heigl so often appears in.
The acting is decent, but not worth exceptional praise. With movie ticket prices higher than ever, it becomes important to choose your movies wisely.
