Aside from the hijinks of a few students, the Vanessa Carlton concert went off without a hitch, thanks to the efforts of CUB. However, CUB's scheduling of the upcoming Third Eye Blind concert has been less than praiseworthy.
The concert is scheduled for April 19, the first night of Passover, one of the most important nights of the Jewish calendar and a holiday even slightly devout Jewish students probably observe.
CUB made every effort to make the Vanessa Carlton event as inviting as possible for every student - it should do the same for the Third Eye Blind concert. The Spring concert is funded by the Student Activities Fee, collected from every student's tuition.
Every student, regardless of religion, should be able to attend what, based on the success of the Vanessa Carlton concert, should be a great event. Rescheduling the Third Eye Blind concert would be another worthy accomplishment for CUB this semester.
