Terhune Orchards gives you a complete farm experience, from a pleasant market to a barnyard full of animals.
The Farm Market and Bakery sells the fruits of the farm's labor - literally. You can buy fruits and vegetables picked from their orchards and gardens, and goodies like seasonal pies, cookies and apple cider doughnuts. The market is open year-round, Monday-Friday from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Saturday and Sunday from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Go apple picking or pick your own pumpkin. Buy some mums or other fall flowers to decorate your dorm room in autumn splendor. Take a hike on Terhune's mile-long farm trail, which takes you past their orchards and meadows and directly into the woods, if you feel like really getting into fall.
If you just want a taste of the season, pick up a jug of apple cider from the market. Terhune Orchards is located at 330 Cold Soil Road in Princeton.

Another fun thing to do in fall is get lost in a corn maze. The Howell Living History Farm's 10th annual corn maze is open during November. Wander through the maze or enjoy a hayride for only $8.

If all you want to do is watch the leaves change color, you could take a drive on any scenic back road.
A perfect road to travel is Route 29, which winds along the Delaware River. Route 29 South will take you directly into Trenton, but the other direction twists through farmland and forests with a beautiful view of the Delaware in all its glory.

One mile south of Lambertville on Route 29 is the Golden Nugget Antique Flea Market. The market boasts nearly 200 outdoor vendors and 60 indoor shops offering anything your heart desires. It is also open year-round, so even though it's chilly outside, you can bundle up and hit the shops.
The flea market is open Wednesdays, Saturdays and Sundays from 6 a.m. to 4 p.m.

From Route 29, you can escape across the river for a New Hope experience. You can wander through the unique shops or grab some grub at any of the eateries along the way.
One of the most interesting things in New Hope is the canal. It's not visible from the main stretch of town, but just up the hill is what remains of the Delaware Canal.
There are several inconspicuous staircases that lead from the road right down to the water. The little path that parallels the canal is quiet and charming. Stand on the path under the bridges and look up to see cars driving over you less than five feet from the top of your head.
