On Monday, Sept. 11 at 9:10 a.m., Campus Police officers stopped a car that was traveling at 41 mph down Metzger Drive, a 25 mph zone. Upon reporting the plate number, the officers discovered that the stopped car's plates were assigned to a different vehicle. They also noted that there was no College tag or parking decal on the car.
After being stopped, the driver exited her vehicle and began to approach the officers, who were stopped behind her. The officers told her multiple times to return to her vehicle before she finally complied. She was asked for her credentials, which she refused to provide, even after being warned that she would be arrested otherwise.
Upon hearing this, she again exited the vehicle and said "Arrest me," but when an officer attempted to handcuff her, she drew back and said, "Let go of me!" and also exclaimed, "This is a college campus where I have been a faculty member for 25 years!" She then attempted to slam her car door on one of the officers before calming down.
When the officers finally obtained her credentials and learned who she was, they discovered that her license was suspended, and that there was an active warrant with her name on it from Woodbridge Municipal Court. At this point they again attempted to arrest her, but she would not go, saying "I'm not going anywhere with you! You will have to hit me over the head!"
She was eventually subdued and taken back to Police Headquarters, where she managed to post bail after being charged with speeding, operating a motor vehicle with a suspended license and obstructing the administration of the law.

On Monday, Sept. 11 at 1:40 a.m., Campus Police observed a vehicle traveling at a high speed in Lot 9. After the police stopped the vehicle, the student driving exited the car, struggling to close the door. He smelled of alcohol. The officers asked him where he had come from, to which he answered "Rutgers." His speech was slurred and he swayed back and forth as he stood.
The student failed all three sobriety tests administered by the officers and was handcuffed.
Meanwhile, the passenger of the vehicle was asked to exit the vehicle, and the officers found he also smelled strongly of alcohol and could not stand up straight, exhibiting the same swaying motion as the driver. He claimed he had been drinking alcohol at an off-campus party. He failed the same sobriety tests as the driver, and was handcuffed and taken back to his dorm.
The driver, however, was taken to the Hopewell Township Police Department for a chemical test, and his blood alcohol level was determined to be 0.232 percent. The legal limit for driving a car is 0.08 percent.
He was charged with possessing alcoholic beverages as a minor, driving while intoxicated and reckless driving.
The student was taken back to Campus Police Headquarters and placed in a holding cell until he was picked up by a friend.

The fire alarm was pulled in Eickhoff Hall on Tuesday, Sept. 12 at 7:50 p.m. When Campus Police officers arrived on the scene, they detected no signs of smoke or fire. Because the pull box used was located in the back of the food services loading area, they suspected an employee of pulling the alarm.
There were no useful fingerprints found on the pull box itself, but all employees were spoken to and warned that they could be charged with a crime. There were no suspects or witnesses reported.
