Golf team comes out strong in spring season

The College's men's golf team won the team title at the Susquehanna University Invitational at Susquehanna Country Club on Thursday. The Lions shot a 303 for the day on the par 70 course to best the 10-team field.

Senior captain Dan Pickering shot a 71 for the day and finished as the medalist, while senior Jeff Pillar finished third overall with a 72.

Junior Mike Puorro had a 73 for the day and posted a fourth place finish for the tournament.

Sophomore Nicholas Pennetti had an 87 for the Lions to round out the team's top scorers and help them to the team victory.

The Lions opened the spring portion of their season last Wednesday at the Elizabethtown College Invitational at the Hershey Country Club. They had been rained out in their previous two outings.

The Lions shot a 311 for the day on the par 71 course and finished in fourth place in the field of 14 teams.?

Pillar led the Lions with a round of 71 and finished in second place in the individual standings. Puorro and Pennetti each shot a 79 for the day.

The golf team will be back in action on April 14 at the Wesley College Invitational in Delaware.
