On Wednesday Mar. 2 at 3:55 a.m., Campus Police was dispatched to a residence on Pennington Road on a report of a white male trying to break into the house.
Upon arrival, officers observed a white male walking away from the house. The residents yelled to officers, identifying the man as the one who had tried to break in.
The suspect was placed under arrest, searched and transported to Campus Police for processing. He was later identified as a student of the College.
Upon meeting with the residents, two women told police that they heard someone pounding on the front door and attempting to gain entry. The first woman said that she looked out the window to see the male student pounding on the door with a piece of ice.
She then went to the kitchen to retrieve Campus Police's emergency phone number and returned to her room.
While on the phone with an officer, the woman stated she heard the window break and someone attempted to open the door locks.
The second woman said that she observed the student break the window next to the door, reach in, unlock the door and attempt to open it.
She said that the door chain was secure, which prevented the student from gaining full entry to the house.
The woman then pushed the door closed and the student walked toward the front of the house, where Campus Police apprehended him.
The student said that he was drinking vodka and soda in his room in Brewster Hall when he decided to visit a friend at a different Pennington Road residence. The student said he thought he was at his friend's residence when he broke the window. He also said that he was under a lot of stress from school and had not acted rationally.
The student was issued a summons to appear in Ewing Township Municipal Court on Mar. 16 and was released at 6:05 a.m. on his own recognizance.

On Friday Mar. 4 at 12:05 a.m., Campus Police was dispatched to Travers Hall to investigate a report of an intoxicated male student. Upon arrival, officers observed the student sitting upright on the side of his bed, conscious and responsive.
An investigation revealed that the student had consumed at least eleven shots of Southern Comfort and proceeded to vomit several times in various locations around Travers and Wolfe Halls. Campus Police could not determine at this time how much, if any, other alcohol the student had consumed.
The student was transported to Capital Health Services, Helene Fuld Campus for treatment, accompanied by Gretchen Reyes Cseplo, acting director of Residential and Community Development.
The student's parents were notified in keeping with the College's residence life regulations.
There is no further information at this time.
