By unanimous vote, SGA passed a resolution recommending to the Office of Records and Registration that registration for the Fall 2004 semester be held from April 7 to April 16.
The Office of Records and Registration requested SGA's input on the registration dates.
SGA also approved nine new senators and filled three internal positions.
The nine new senators are music major Donald Snyder, psychology major Robin Weaver, engineering major Matthew Civiletti, early childhood education major Jackie Kotler, engineering major Mark Adkins, law and justice major Tariq Chaudhri, biology major Stefanie Nieves, nursing major Julia Pratt and secondary education English major Daria Silvestro.
SGA approved the senators by a vote of acclamation.
SGA elected Senator at Large Terisha Mears as Speaker of the Senate, Senator at Large Chris Tuohy as parliamentarian and Junior Class Council President Tiffany Meredith as historian, all by secret ballot.
SGA discussed the nominees in a 15-minute closed session prior to the secret ballot vote.
In their brief speeches to SGA prior to the vote, Tuohy joked that he takes pleasure in calling out SGA's procedural mistakes and Meredith said that she might as well be SGA historian, since she attended every SGA event anyway. Mears said she was qualified to be speaker of the senate since she always says what is on her mind.
The speaker of the senate represents the senate body at SGA executive board meetings. SGA's parliamentarian makes sure that SGA follows parliamentary procedure at its weekly meetings. The historian creates an annual scrapbook of photographs of SGA events.
