The best of summer film

Heads up! This article was imported from a previous version of The Signal. If you notice any issues, please let us know.

On DVD / Video:

"Chicago"

An Academy Award-winning musical that is packed with blazing melodrama, high-powered dance numbers and plenty of pizzaz.

"Bowling For Columbine"

The Academy Award-winning documentary by Michael Moore is funny, controversial, relevant and just plain worth seeing. Poly-sci majors and the disinterested public at large find it equally gripping.

Still in Theaters:

"Dirty Pretty Things"

Starring Audrey Tautou ("Am?lie") and fresh face Chiwetel Ejiofor as immigrants struggling in the London underbelly, with their eyes on leaving the corrupt streets. Inspirational but never sentimental, this film by director Stephen Frears starkly portrays immigrant life.

"Pirates of the Caribbean"

If you haven't seen it at least once by now, you won't regret taking a trip to the theater for this thrill ride. A Keith Richards-esque Johnny Depp makes the film.
