Letter to the editor: Rally right

To the Editor:



I agree with the rally to defend ourselves against the proposed state budget cuts. I can imagine that there are less deserving places than higher education still receiving money. However, if these cuts are so deep, couldn't we just put on hold the $250 million construction plan. I am positive this school will not fall apart if we don\'t have a new library by 2005, or if the new and improved chapel isn't ready as soon as possible. Seems to me that if we are facing inevitable cuts, then they can be absorbed in other places besides cutting rehires and the art department.
